Vibrant Media Productions Filmfest 2018

Vibrant Media Productions, an Orlando, FL based video production company, is proud to announce our inaugural Student Film Festival!

The main goal with our “VMP Filmfest” is simple, we want to give students a strong outlet for their creativity with an opportunity to win some sizable college-based grants. We know school is expensive, so we want to help fund either your classes or your next project.  In addition, we would like to add to the options local students have to get their films exposure and acclaim.

  • 1st Place ($1,500 Prize)

    • Interview in our studio recorded with yourself and/or team discussing your film
    • Your “1st Place Filmfest” edited interview (with film excerpts included) will be published on our website, social media channels, etc.
    • Custom “1st Place VMP Filmfest Winner” wall plaque created
    • Assorted Vibrant Media Productions swag for your production team

  • 2nd Place ($750 Prize)

Filmfest Judges:

Alex is the founder of Vibrant Media Productions. He is passionate about helping businesses succeed through producing visually stunning imagery that tells their unique stories.

Chris has many years of experience in the video production industry. He has produced content for many of VMP’s clients such as Microsoft, Twitter and Bayer Pharmaceuticals.

Reuben has taught at the University of Central Florida as well as Full Sail University. He has also produced documentary film projects all over the world, most recently in India.

Eligible Schools:

VMP Filmfest 2018

Rules & Terms

  1. This festival is an entirely online event.
  2. Films should be no longer than 10 minutes in length, including intro/end credits.
  3. Films will be judged by a panel of 3 judges – both principals (Alex & Chris) and chief editor (Reuben) of Vibrant Media Productions.
  4. This festival is only open to local Orlando, FL college students only (eligible schools listed above).
  5. You and your full production team must be currently enrolled in an eligible school – either undergrad or grad school (eligible schools listed above).
  6. Any actors utilized in short films do not have to be college students.
  7. Topics for short film are open to the genres: comedy, drama, documentary, and experimental.
  8. Filmmakers must have full usage rights to all media utilized.
  9. Animated films are also eligible for this filmfest.
  10. No stock video footage is allowed. Royalty free music is allowed as long as the filmmaker has rights to use it.
  11. In order to be eligible for the VMP Filmfest, all entries must be created within the calendar last year.
  12. All films must be in English or have English subtitles.

How to enter

  • Early Bird Entry Fee/Date: $10 submitted by October 24th, 2018 (paid via PayPal or Venmo)
  • Final Submission Fee/Date: $20, submitted by November 24th, 2018 (paid via PayPal or Venmo)
  • To submit, please post either a YouTube or Vimeo link on our submission page below, or email directly to [email protected]
  • Once your film has been submitted via email, you will receive an email with a payable invoice to cover your entry fee. This must be paid within 24 hours of submission.
  • We only accept online submissions; please do not send any DVDs or physical media of any kind. Only one entry per person/production team.

By submitting to this festival, entrants give the right to Vibrant Media Productions to use an excerpt from their film for promotional purposes and retain digital copies of all submissions. Applicants understand and agree that they have all rights necessary to the material used and have followed all requirements and regulations.

Vibrant Media Productions will not be held responsible for the unauthorized inclusion of copyrighted materials in any submitted film and reserves the right to disqualify any film with unauthorized materials.
